One child from each member state will have his or her name given to a satellite of the Galileo programme, Europe's future venture into the field of satellite navigation. The European Commission has launched a drawing competition to choose the winners. "The child with the best drawing from each member state will give his or her name to a Galileo programme satellite," stated the Commission. The first two satellites will be launched in September and will bear the names of the winning children from Belgium and Bulgaria where the competition opens, on 10 April (and closes on 31 May).
