Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community, and in particular the second indent of Article 211 thereof,Whereas:(1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1425/2003 (1 ) establishes maximum levels for patulin for, inter alia, apple juice and apple juice ingredients in other beverages.(2) An exposure assessment of patulin by the population of EU Member States has been performed in the frame of Council Directive 1993/5/EEC of 25 February 1993 on assistance to the Commission and cooperation by the Member States in the scientific examination of questions relating to food (2 ) (SCOOP).
