Eleven European airlines, including British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa and KLM, are joining forces to set up a pan- European travel agency on the Internet, according to a joint announcement by Air France and BA. The other partners in the venture are Alitalia, Aer Lingus, Iberia, SAS, Austrian Airlines, British Midland and Finnair. The new web site, which should be launched by the end of the year, will be targeted specifically on European travellers and will give them access to the airlines' entire price range, from first class to the lowest Apex or last-minute tickets.
