1998 ANOTHER SATISFACTORY YEAR FOR THE PARTICLEBOARD INDUSTRY.

The economic performance of the European particleboard and MDF industry over 1998 was again "satisfactory", according to the European Panel Federation (EPF). Particleboard manufacturers recorded a 4% increase in output, with exports rising more than 6% and imports by 8%. At its third General Assembly, staged recently in Brussels, the EPF reviewed the application of several EU Directives, notably the Construction Products Directive, which requires all products on the construction market to carry the CE mark.
