ABB ALSTOM WINS 250 MILLION EURO ORDER FOR MEXICAN POWER PLANT.

The recently-merged energy giant ABB Alstom Power has announced that it has won a Euro 250 million (USD263 million) order to build a combined cycle power plant at the site of the Rosarito power station near Tijuana in Mexico. The new natural-gas-fired generating unit, scheduled for completion by July 2001, will boost Rosarito's output by 540 megawatts to around 1,170 megawatts.
