ACCESSION TREATY: MORE PROGRESS IN RATIFYING EU ENLARGEMENT.

The latest Member States to notify their completion of the ratification process of the EU Accession Treaty are Germany and Spain, which brings up to three (along with Denmark) the total of EU countries to have completed all the formalities for admitting the new Member States in May 2004.

However, other Member States are also moving the process along: the UK also completed in November the national legal processes to ratify the Accession Treaty, but has not yet formally communicated its ratification to the Italian Presidency.

Meanwhile, among the acceding states, the Czech Republic also notified its national ratification...
