Several hundreds of demonstrators blocked the streets of Brussels, on 19 December 2013, to try to stop the EU summit from being held. Farmers, citizens, trade unions and various organisations pulled together under the D19-20 banner to speak out against austerity policy, the fiscal stability treaty (Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance) and the transatlantic free trade agreement between the EU and the US.
