Consumer electronics sales are expected to reach a record of USD85 billion (Euro 82.5 billion) in 2000 in the United States, or a 5% increase over 1999, according to forecasts by the US Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Last year's sales came to approximately USD81 billion (Euro 78.6 billion), or an increase of 7% over 1998, according to a press release issued at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
