CABLE OPERATOR ONO FORECASTS 1000 JOB CUTS.

The Spanish cable operator group Ono has informed unions of its intention to begin negotiations with a view to cutting up to 1000 jobs from its staff of 4600, the group revealed on January 17. The aim is to "increase the efficiency, productivity" and competitiveness of the group after its takeover, last month, of Auna Cable. Auna is a subsidiary of the Spanish telecoms holding of the same name, which specialises in fixed telephony and broadband services.
