*Electronic commerce: the end of the beginning?The 13th Bled electronic conference will be held in Bled, Slovenia, from June 19 to 21, 2000 and is entitled "Electronic commerce: the end of the beginning".The conference will be organised around the following pillars:- a fully refereed research track, devoted to researchers in all aspects of electronic commerce;- a business and government track aimed at business and policy makers from around the world;- an exhibition of information technology for electronic commerce;- a graduate student consortium and educational symposium for students researching any aspect of electronic commerce.The conference organisers from Slovenia's University of Maribor are now calling for papers and presentations at the event. The main theme of the conference is professional software process improvement (SPI), motivated by the need for good quality products and services. SPI is possible through assessment of software process, software measurement, process modelling and technology transfer, and has become a practical tool for quality software engineering and management, say the event organisers. The conference will address both the solutions found in practice as well as relevant research results from academia. The purpose of the conference is to bring to light the most recent findings and results in this area and to stimulate discussion between researchers, experienced professionals and technology providers for SPI. There will also be panels and workshops on current research activities and industrial projects. The conference organisers are now calling for papers.
