* Internal Market session of the Council of MinistersEuropean Union Ministers responsible for Internal Market dossiers will gather in Brussels on 25 May for a Council session. Issues on the agenda include the proposal for a Directive on copyright and associated rights in the information society, with Ministers expected to agree a common position.*Virtual Reality World CongressThe third virtual reality world congress has as its theme "the best of European VR comes to the USA". Taking place on 21 to 23 June in St Louis, USA, the event will provide an opportunity for European and US organisations to establish relationships and share information and opinions. VR World Congress III is a response to the virtual reality (VR) and three-dimensional (i3D) technologies, techniques and applications element of the European Commission's Information Society Technologies Programme. Participation is invited from existing and prospective users, researchers, developers and suppliers of Virtual Reality and interactive, three-dimensional technologies, techniques and applications. Organised by INCO projects MASSYVE and ProSME of the European Commission's Fifth RTD Framework Programme, the event will take place in Florianopolis, Brazil, from 4 to 6 December 2000. The development of open infrastructures to support virtual enterprises is attracting research efforts worldwide, and the results of several international collaborative projects are already available. The focus has moved from basic infrastructures to the management of cooperation.
