Cedefop is organising jointly with the German Ministry of Education and Research, the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and the Social Science Research Center Berlin an International Conference on May 22-23 2003. The conference takes place at the premises of Cedefop in Thessaloniki, Greece, at the occasion of the Greek EU-Presidency. The conference aims to gather European experiences and 'best practices' on the identification, anticipation and monitoring of changing and new emerging skills at national, sectoral and regional levels. Likewise, the conference seeks to explore the skill needs of different target groups. It brings together policy makers, the social partners, practitioners and researchers from various European countries, including the candidate countries, and intends to establish a mode for regular cooperation and networking at the European level.

The UK centre for environmental and economics development is organising, with the support of the Commission's Enterprise DG, a workshop on ICT and sustainability, to take place in London on May 22.
