* Workshop on public national and regional policies in the ICT sector

A workshop on public national and regional policies in support of the competitiveness of the ICT (information and communication technologies) sector in the EU will take place in Brussels on September 16. The findings of the benchmarking initiative launched in January 2004 by the Commission's Enterprise Directorate General will be presented on this occasion.

*International workshop on accessibility requirements for public procurement in the ICT domain

An International workshop on procurement policy in the field of ICT (information and communication technologies) will take place in Brussels on October 19-21. This workshop will address the harmonisation of eAccessibility requirements to be used in the public procurement of ICT products and services, and the requirements for policy implementation in this field.

* Grid Projects Launch and Concertation

An event to launch two new Grid projects funded under the Information Society Technologies (IST) call of the 6th Framework-Programme (FP6) will take place in Brussels from September 15-17.

The first day will focus on presenting the new FP6 Grid Projects and their combined overall vision. The second and third days will focus on moving forward from FP5 to FP6 and will only be open to project participants from these two Grid Projects.

* Second mobile communications seminar: health, environment & society.

best practice exchanges between EU Member States

The European Commission in co-operation with the GSM Europe/GSM Association and the Mobile Manufacturers Forum (MMF) are organising the Second Mobile Communications Seminar on Health, Environment and Society, which will take place in Brussels from September 23-24.
