* Child safety and mobile phones: A plenary session of the Safer Internet Forum will take place in Luxembourg on Tuesday June 14, 2005. The meeting will focus on "Child safety and mobile phones". The objective of the Forum is to contribute to improve the common understanding of this issue at European level. Mobile operators, content providers, industry representatives, child safety associations and public bodies will exchange on potential issues and solutions, national experience of self-regulation and discuss plans for the future, including a set of minimum requirements for a self-regulatory system for content available through mobile phones.

* Information day on the fifth call under IST control to talk about access to and preservation of cultural and scientific resources: The Commission's Information Society DG is organising an information day on the fifth call under the information society technologies (IST) strand of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The event will take place on June 16 in Kirchberg, Luxembourg. The event is geared towards streamlining proposals in response to that section of the call dealing with "access to and preservation of cultural and scientific resources", expected to be published in May with a closing date of the end of September 2005.

* Mobile and wireless communications summit: The 14th mobile and wireless communications summit will take place from June 19 to 23 in Dresden, Germany. Supported by the European Commission and other organisations, the event gathers prominent scientists and business representatives to present their achievements and discuss future developments. * European Research and Innovation Fair: The European Research and Innovation fair will be held in Paris, France, from June 3 to 5. The aim of the fair is to bring together researchers, public and private institutions, universities, commercial and industrial enterprises, research and development (R&D) departments, incubators, financial actors, local authorities, technopoles and research associations to present their activities and their needs, develop contacts and partnerships, and negotiate financing for start-ups or research programmes
