* SOS Interoperability III: The third in a series of workshops for Industry, Standards Bodies and Policy Makers organised by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) in Sophia Antipolis (France) from February 20-21. * Workshop on Wireless access policy for electronic communications services (wapecs): This event, organised by the European Commission, will take place in Brussels on February 21. The recently adopted RSPG (Radio Spectrum Policy Group) opinion on "Wireless Access Policy for Electronic Communications Services" (WAPECS) will be presented and interested public will be provided an opportunity to discuss the implications. * Workshop on mobile broadcasting: mobile broadcasting services are expected to be the next big market application in mobile communications. There is, however, widespread uncertainty concerning standards, business models, spectrum access and content regulation, casting doubts on who will invest heavily in such an unstable environment The workshop which will take place in Brussels on February 23 will look at these questions with a view to establishing a common European approach to mobile broadcasting and defining a pragmatic regulatory approach. * European Semantic Web Conference: The third semantic web conference (ESWC) is to be held in Budva, Montenegro, from June 11-14, 2006. The ESWC 2006 is sponsored by SDK, a group of four European Commission 6th Framework Programme projects known as SEKT, DIP, Knowledge Web and ASG. Collectively these projects aim to improve world-wide research and standardisation in the areas of the Semantic Web and Semantic Web Systems.
