* ITC Opportunities under the 6th and 7th framework programmes: A conference about existing and future opportunities open to the Information Technology and Communication sector within the framework of FP6 and the future FP7 is to be organised on 16 March in Brussels (Belgium). The conference will also look at questions related to the preparation and management of EU research programmes. Representatives from the European Commission and Ernst and Young will make presentations and participate in the debate and a working group will present previous successes of the framework programmes. * Architecture MDA: Design and applications: A European Conference on "model-driven architectureo foundations and applications, ECMDA-FA 06, will take place in Bilbao (Spain), from 10-14 July. Organised as part of the MODELWARE project financed by the EU, this event will focus on Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) designs and applications - an initiative for platform-generic software development. MDA promotes the use of models in the specification, design, analysis, synthesis, deployment, and evolution of complex software systems. * An Expedition to European Digital Cultural Heritage - Collecting, Connecting and Conserving?: An international conference on Europe's digital cultural heritage will take place in Salzburg (Austria) from 21-22 June 2006. The event is being organised by the Federal Ministry for Education, Research and Culture in the scope of the Austrian EU Presidency. The conference will look at the three topics mentioned in the title, ie. the challenges faced in collecting, connecting and digitally conserving cultural treasures and scientific information. The delegates will look at the initiatives taken by the EU to coordinate the digitisation of our cultural heritage and to make it available to European citizens.
