SOCIAL POLICY : CALL FOR EU FRAMEWORK TO FIGHT HOMELESSNESS.

One of the main recommendations emerging from a consensus conference on the topic of homelessness, organised on 9 December 2010 by the Belgian EU Presidency, was the implementation of an EU framework to propose common principles and working tools in order to support national strategies in the fight against homelessness.

Other EU funds should also be used to support national strategies and, in particular, social experimentation, which is a pillar of the new Community platform (one of the seven flagship initiatives of the Europe 2020' strategy).
