1. INTRODUCTION

In recent decades, a far-reaching metamorphosis has occurred in the

socioeconomic and communicative sphere. This transformation has

crystallized into what is now referred to as the digital and globalized

era (Lock, 2019; Manyika et al., 2016). This concept of contemporary

society is reflected in a paradigm characterized by a rapid transition to

a digital environment that has revolutionized the transfer of infor-

mation, communication, and interconnectivity processes (Manfredi-

Sánchez, 2020). Information and communication technologies have

broken down geographical and temporal barriers that traditionally re-

stricted the flow of information and global collaboration. As a result, a

novel and transformative environment has been established, character-

ized by the pervasive presence of immediacy and ubiquity as the pre-

vailing standards. This environment facilitates real-time interaction and

the seamless exchange of knowledge on a global scale, redefining the

way information is disseminated and utilized across international

boundaries (Flew, 2019; Stoltenkamp & Mapuva, 2010). This shift in

the paradigm not only reimagines the pace of communication but also

underscores the interconnectedness of individuals and entities world-

wide, fostering a rapid flow of information and insights, transcending

geographical constraints, and reshaping the very fabric of the intercon-

nected world.
