COMMISSION LAUNCHES ARCHIMEDES PRIZE.

Alongside its call for proposals for the Descartes Prize, honouring excellence in scientific research, the European Commission is also inviting proposals for the Archimedes Prize for distinctions in high-level research work. This award is offered under the European Union's "Improving Human Research Potential" programme, part of the Fifth RTD Framework Programme. The Archimedes Prize is open to undergraduate students of European higher education institutions who have developed original scientific ideas or concepts in areas which are relevant to the advancement of European science.
