COMMISSION LAUNCHES EUROPEAN PORTAL ON CITIZENS' RIGHTS.

An Internet portal is now available to all European citizens providing clear information on their rights in all European Union Member States. Launched by the European Commission on September 6, the "Dialogue with Citizens" portal contains guides on ten areas of EU law and over 1,300 printable, multilingual factsheets with practical tips. Factsheets are currently only available for the EU15, but a set of national factsheets on the ten new Member States is to be developed in co-operation with national authorities.

The legal guides are available in all 20 official languages of the EU. The national factsheets are meanwhile available in English, French, German and the language of the Member State concerned...
