(1) La Decisión (UE) 2020/430 del Consejo (1) estableció una excepción por un período de un mes a lo dispuesto en el artículo 12, apartado 1, párrafo primero, del Reglamento interno del Consejo (2) por lo que respecta a las decisiones de aplicación del procedimiento escrito ordinario, de tomarlas el Comité de Representantes Permanentes de los Gobiernos de los Estados miembros (Coreper). Dicha excepción estaba prevista hasta el 23 de abril de 2020.
(2) La Decisión (UE) 2020/430 dispone que el Consejo podrá renovar dicha Decisión si así lo justifica la persistencia de las circunstancias excepcionales. El 21 de abril de 2020, mediante la Decisión (UE) 2020/556 (3), el Consejo prorrogó la excepción prevista en el artículo 1 de la Decisión (UE) 2020/430 por un nuevo período de un mes a partir del 23 de abril de 2020. Dicha prórroga de la excepción duraba hasta el 23 de mayo de 2020. El 20 de mayo de 2020, mediante la Decisión (UE) 2020/702 (4), el Consejo prorrogó la excepción prevista en el artículo 1 de la Decisión (UE) 2020/430 por un período adicional hasta el 10 de julio de 2020.
