DEUTSCHE TELEKOM EXTENDS MOBILE TELEPHONY WEB ACROSS EUROPE.

Deutsche Telekom plans to further extend its mobile telephony web in Europe through the acquisition of most of the activities of MediaOne International in Central Europe and Russia, announced on October 22. The erstwhile German telecommunications monopoly is to pay 2 billion dollars for MediaOne International stakes in several mobile telephone operators, though the deal remains subject to the approval of competition authorities.
