DECISIÓN DEL CONSEJO de 17 de diciembre de 2003 que modifica la Decisión 95/408/CE relativa a las condiciones de elaboración, durante un período transitorio, de las listas provisionales de los establecimientos de terceros países de los que los Estados miembros están autorizados para importar determinados productos de origen animal,
productos de la pesca y moluscos bivalvos vivos, en lo que se refiere a la ampliación de su validez (2003/912/CE) EL CONSEJO DE LA UNIÓN EUROPEA,
Vista la Decisión 95/408/CE del Consejo, de 22 de junio de 1995, relativa a las condiciones de elaboración, durante un período transitorio, de las listas provisionales de los establecimientos de terceros países de los que los Estados miembros están autorizadospara importar determinados productos de origen animal, productos de la pesca y moluscos bivalvos vivos (1), y en particular su artículo 9,
Vista la propuesta de la Comisión,
Considerando lo siguiente:
(1) La Decisión 95/408/CE expira el31 de diciembre de 2003.
(2) La propuesta del Reglamento del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo por el que se establecen normas específicas para la organización de controles oficiales de los productos de origen animal destinados al consumo humano (2) (el Reglamento para la organización de controles oficiales) establece un nuevo procedimiento para la elaboración de las listas de establecimientos de terceros países destinado a sustituir las normas establecidas en la Decisión 95/408/CE.
(3) La validez de la Decisión 95/408/CE debe ampliarse, con el fin de colmar el vacío entre la expiración de dicha Decisión y la entrada en vigor del Reglamento para la organización de controles oficiales.
