No voluntary agreement within ETSO (the Association of European Electricity Transmission System Operators) for a new Inter-TSO compensation mechanism in 2007 has been reached so far. The mechanism allows for each TSO to be fairly remunerated for the internal and transit flows across their respective grid while considering, from the users' viewpoint, the European grid as a single one. A roll-over of the existing mechanism among the same TSOs has nevertheless been agreed between the signatories of the current agreement for January 2007 with the possibility to extend it for two more months until the end of March 2007.
