"The recession is paralysing our innovation capacity and will ruin the potential creativity of coming generations if the Europe 2020' strategy is not put in place quickly," warned, on 12 December 2011, the Employers' Group of the European Economic and Social Committee at a conference organised in partnership with BusinessEurope, Eurochambres and UEAPME (small and medium-sized enterprises).

Europe 2020', which mobilises the EU budget, private capital and national resources, is "the only strategy that enables us to do more while spending less," said Henri Malosse, president of the Employers' Group.

Focusing on European investments in employment and training, the conference highlighted the two sectors that should be at the heart of all employment-related priorities.
