The seasonally adjusted number of persons employed in the eurozone rose by 0.3% (407,000 persons) during the third quarter of 2007, according to provisional national accounts estimates published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Communities, on 12 December. During the same period, the number of persons employed in the EU grew also by 0.3% (668,000 persons). In the second quarter of 2007, growth rates were +0.6% in the eurozone and +0.5% in the EU27.
