ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTS: THREE MEMBER STATES OUT OF LINE.

The European Commission decided on December 11 to send reasoned opinions (the second stage of infringement proceedings) under Article 169 of the EC Treaty to Belgium, Italy and Portugal regarding their non-compliance with the Directive requiring reports on the implementation of European Union environmental legislation (Council Directive 91/692/EEC standardising and rationalising reports on the implementation of certain Directives relating to the environment).
