EU BUDGET ADJUSTED TO REFLECT BSE CRISIS.

Confirming the qualified majority agreement that the Committee of Member States' Permanent Representatives to the EU (COREPER) reached on this subject, EU Finance Ministers have announced that a Supplementary and Amending Budget was adopted during their 12 February meeting. Luxembourg voted against. The Budget includes a further Euro 917 million worth of farm spending to contend with the mad cow crisis. The Supplementary and Amending Budget now has to be approved by the European Parliament.
