Klaus Meyer-Cabri was appointed National Member for Germany on the 1st of September 2014. He is the first German National Member who was elected as Vice-President of Eurojust in November 2016. He was re-elected in November 2019. Prior to his assignment he was head of the EU and International department of the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, at the time responsible e.g. for the t negotiation on the new EUROJUST regulation.
However, his involvement with EUROJUST dates back to the very first EUROJUST legal instrument as he was serving as Legal Councillors at the German Permanent Representation to the EU from 2000-2007. As a junior lawyer he was serving at the Office of Public Prosecution in Berlin especially in the area of drug related crimes. Due to his service at the German Patent and Trademark office he has a particular interest in IP protection and the fight against counterfeited goods.
