The US senator in charge of EU-US relations has accused European leaders of lacking honesty in their responses to the National Security Agency (NSA) spy programme revelations. "There is a lot more cooperation happening [on intelligence] than our European partners and leaders will let on," Senator Chris Murphy (Democrat, Connecticut), chair of the European Affairs Subcommittee, said, on 27 January.
