A majority of European corporate managers admit that they are still unfamiliar with the Internet, according to a study by the consultant firm PricewaterhouseCoopers released on January 27 at the Davos Forum. According to a survey of 290 European company managers in nine countries, only 8% indicated that they were "competent users of the Internet", while the majority (58%) recognised that they had only limited or weak ability in using the World Wide Web. Internet use is less widespread in European companies than in companies in other regions of the world. Thirty percent of the corporate top executives surveyed, log onto the Web more than 10 times a month for other than e-mail purposes, versus 51% in the United States and in Latin America.Corporate officials in Europe consider that...
