3. Fieldwork organisation

Organisation of the eldwork was designed in

two phases, A and B.

Phase A grouped all Member States into clus-

ters. Iacovous four fold grouping (Iacovou,

2004, 2010) was used, including Croatia, Malta,

Romania and Bulgaria.

1) Northwestern: Austria, Belgium, France, Ger-

many, Ireland, Luxembourg and United King-

dom.

2) Southern: Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Ital y,

Malta, Portugal and Spain.

3) Eastern: Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Hungary,

Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovenia

and Slovakia.

4) Nordic: Denmark, Finland, Netherlands and

Sweden.

The sampling error was 1.4 % and the sample

size 5 378. All eldwork contractor companies

conducted a sur vey with the sample size indi-

cated in Table 1 below.
