FILM DIRECTORS URGE RENEWAL OF EP CINEMA AND AUDIOVISUAL INTERGROUP.

The Federation of European Film Directors (FERA) has written to all the Presidents of the political groups in the European Parliament. It wants them to consider renewing the Cinema and Audiovisual Intergroup within the new enlarged European Parliament. In a September 17 press release, FERA said that "continuity" was paramount in the Intergroup's work. MEPs in this group have ensured a degree of specialisation within the European Parliament in a sector that generates 5.3% of EU's GDP, according to the film industry organisation.
