FREIGHT TRANSPORT : IMPERIAL MOBILITY CLEARED TO BUY LEHNKERING.

The European Commission authorised, on 22 December 2011, the proposed acquisition of Lehnkering, a German logistics firm, by Imperial Mobility International BV, a subsidiary of Imperial Holdings Limited of South Africa. The Commission's investigation confirmed that the merged entity would continue to face competition from several strong market actors and that customers would have sufficient alternative suppliers on the markets for the transport of dry bulk products and liquid chemicals in the Rhine area and on Northern German rivers and canals.
