GAS INTERCONNECTOR TO FLOW GAS FROM EUROPE TO UK.

The gas interconnector pipeline linking the United Kingdom to Zeebrugge in Belgium was due to start flowing gas from Europe to the UK from mid-December. The gas interconnector has the capacity to flow up to 8 billion cubic metres (bcm) from Belgium to the UK, and a 20 bcm capacity in the other direction. A spokesman for Interconnector (UK) Ltd, which runs the pipeline, said the company was not in a position to disclose information on the direction of the flow, because of a confidentiality agreement with its users.
