GIULANO BERETTA TO REPLACE JEAN GRENIER AT HEAD OF EUTELSAT

Meeting in Saint-Petersburg on July 10, the Board of Eutelsat, the European Satellite Telecommunications Organisation, appointed Giulano Beretta of Italy as its new Director General. Mr Beretta will take up office in January, replacing Jean Grenier who has held the post since 1990 and who is to retire at the end of 1998. Mr Beretta, who has spent his entire career in telecommunications, television and the space industry, joined Eutelsat in September 1990, as the Organisations First Commercial Director.
