GREEN LIGHT FOR MOTOROLA-VERTEX STANDARD MERGER.

The European Commission approved, on 21 December, the proposed acquisition of Vertex Standard of Japan by the US-based communications technologies operator Motorola. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area or any substantial part of it. Vertex Standard is active in the design, manufacture and sale of two-way radios. Through its Enterprise Mobility Solutions business unit, Motorola is also active in two-way radios.
