At the dawn of the 21st Century, a revolution may be about to sweep a cinema industry which is no longer content with using the Internet just for advertising, but which is prepared to explore the multiple opportunities it offers in production and distribution. More than a million Internet users in the United States, Germany, Iran, or Morocco accessed the Internet during the first week of September in order to see 'The Peeper', a short animation film created exclusively for the Internet by the actor Adam Sandler. By the end of the year, Metafilmics will have begun the filming in Los Angeles of the first film to be produced with the intention of being distributed first on the Internet. 'The Quantum Project', which will have a budget of three million dollars, should be broadcast next year on the website of the company Sightsound.com.
