The social partners interrupted, on 14 December 2012, their negotiations on revision of the Working Time Directive, launched a year ago and set to be wrapped up by 31 December. The Executive Committee of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), meeting on 5-6 December, rejected the employers' "final offer" on the text, which sets minimum requirements relating to the maximum limit on weekly working hours, daily rest period, rest break, weekly rest period, annual leave and duration of night work.
