IMT-2000 RADIO INTERFACE SPECIFICATION APPROVED.

The group of radio experts on IMT-2000 approved a comprehensive set of terrestrial and satellite radio specifications for IMT-2000 at a recent meeting in Helsinki (between October 25 and November 5). These specifications incorporate the flexibility required by existing mobile operators to evolve seamlessly their pre-IMT-2000 networks towards third generation services capabilities, as well as meeting the needs of operators of new satellite and terrestrial systems.
