In November 2009, compared with October 2009, the industrial producer price index rose by 0.1% in the eurozone and by 0.2% in the EU, according to data published by Eurostat, on 6 January. Over one year, in November 2009, compared with November 2008, industrial producer prices dropped by 4.4% in the eurozone and by 3.2% in the EU.

In terms of monthly variations, the highest increases were recorded in Denmark (+1.4%), Lithuania, Portugal, Finland and the United Kingdom (all +0.6%), and the largest decreases in Latvia (-1.6%), Cyprus (-1.1%) and the Netherlands (-0.4%). In terms of annual comparisons, the largest decreases were observed in Latvia (-11%), Lithuania (-9.7%) and Malta (-8.1%). The only increases were observed in Romania (+1.9%), Poland (+1.8%), Greece and the United Kingdom (both +0.8%).
