Twenty winners of the European Information Society Technologies (IST) Prize 2004 were selected by the European Commission on September 17. The winners will each receive Euro 5,000 and will be invited to exhibit their products in the European IST Prize Winners Village at the 2004 IST Event in The Hague, on November 15-17. The awards come under the aegis of the IST Research Programme (part of the 6th EU Research Framework Programme). The winners come from Finland, France, Ireland, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

The IST 2004 event, at which winners will be invited to exhibit their products, is being organised by the European Commission in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
