In light of the exceptional circumstances in Greece, the president of the EU General Court has suspended, in Case T-52/12R, the clawing back of 425 million euro of Greek agricultural aid. Granted in 2009 as compensation for damages caused by adverse weather conditions in 2008 and 2009, this aid was judged incompatible by the European Commission, which ordered its recuperation on 7 December 2011. Subsequently, Athens asked the court for a stay of execution until the pronouncement of the ruling on the substance of the case.
