More than a third of Portugal's population has access to the Internet, but only a quarter surf the net and fewer than 5% have already purchased goods or services over the Web, according to a survey by the Marktest institute. Conducted between January and March, this survey found that 36.8% of Portuguese citizens have access to the Internet, but that only 24.3% make use of the services available.
