INVESTIGATION INTO SPANISH FILM STUDIO AID.

Suspecting Spain of having granted illegal aid to the Ciudad de la Luz film studio complex near Alicante, the European Commission has launched an in-depth investigation, it announced on 13 February. Entirely owned by the regional government of Valencia, over 200 million of public funds have been invested in the complex. The final figure may be significantly higher as construction, which began in 2002, is still in progress.
