The United States Justice Department and the Microsoft Corporation have agreed to request a postponement of the opening of anti-trust proceedings against the American software giant until October 15. The two parties have agreed that more time is needed to ensure the judge is in full possession of all the facts. Some forty witness statements have still to be taken. Proceedings, which were to have begun on September 8, were postponed a first time until September 23 following delays in taking statements, notably that of Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.
