A formal seal of approval has been given by the EU Council to the setting up of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), on 21 January, when ministers adopted their common position on the dossier. The common position reflects the agreement reached between Council and Parliament in November. The next step will now be for MEPs to complete their work on the draft legislation, by endorsing the same text at second reading.
