More than 90% of registered mobile phone users in Portugal waste at least euro 100 per year because they have failed to chose the tariff option best suited to their consumption, according to the competition authorities there. The regulator has proposed to the government that customers should be able to calculate their monthly expenditure using standard simulators found on mobile operators' websites.
