opulism has been one of the most interesting areas in political science studies. This concept
has nowadays been one of the most important issue in debates involving the
E
uropean
U
nion
a
nd the
U
S and as such, has a ected our country as well. The political system in
A
lbania, and
e
specially the party system, a er the communist system, is a multi-party system, which seems
to have quenched every person's thirst for representation.
I
n the last 30 years of the democratic
s
ystem, political parties have tried to be as close as possible to the ideal of being a
E
uropean
p
arty. Not just in their organization, but in the way their political ideas are conveyed.
But in addition to their e orts to convey a more
E
uropean spirit, these political entities
themselves are
f
acing the weaknesses o
f
the political system and a poor legacy o
f
lack o
f
p
olitical pluralism. Recent developments show that populism has shi ed from a form o
f
g
overnment to a practice o
f
governance. The paper will begin with a brie
f
introduction on
how this phenomenon was conceived by various political studies and then on the forms it has
taken in post-communist system in
