Abstract
Taking the analysis of transient processes caused by direct lightning strike in concern, it becomes
necessary to know the parameters of the lightning protection system. Protection systems are
airborne, both used in various civilian and military sites and in the underground ones, thus
being called the Protective [1] Earthing Systems. For the sake of calculation, we are providing
below with the formulas for calculating dierent parameters. If the maximum frequency of
the lightning strike current spectrum, fmax, is known, then we can nd the minimum length
that the segment, part of the conductor with which the earthing network is built, must have.

Introduction
The minimum conductor length is part of the minimum wavelength. This criterion
serves to use the quasi-static approximation of the electric and magnetic eld, aiming
to calculate parameters such as capacity, static inductance of the respective segment,
on a given length [2]. If we denote by
